Caribbean
Tutorial isles and bent harbourmasters, in the bluest water you've seen.
Captain Wilf Marlow is a day off retiring when the Cosmic Bank freezes his pension and hides it across eleven dimensions. He's fairly annoyed about it. He's getting it back with cannons.
A top-down pirate game. If you loved Overboard! on the PS1, or TimeSplitters, or Banjo-Kazooie, you'll feel at home.
Wilf has done forty-one years under the black flag. The last two were behind a desk as a "pirate-risk consultant", which he doesn't like to talk about. Then the bank froze his pension and stashed it across eleven dimensional branch offices, one signed token apiece, each guarded by a regional manager with targets to hit and no intention of countersigning anything.
So he's sailing through all eleven to collect. The final boss is HR. Obviously it is.
It's a spiritual successor to Overboard! / Shipwreckers! (PS1, 1997), built in Godot 4.6, and it's a bit daft on purpose.
Real-time in Godot, no cuts. The ship drifts at its mooring, the light turns to gold, and the water genuinely moves under it. Proper combat footage is next on the list.
Three games I keep going back to. Bounty Overboard is trying to bottle a bit of each.
New water, new sky, new hazards, a signature weapon and a boss. Four are playable already. Here's the full roster.

Tutorial isles and bent harbourmasters, in the bluest water you've seen.
A ghost fleet in the fog, and something glowing in the deep.
Ice, aurora, and the Rimefang spear forged out here in the cold.
Cthulhu's here. He's pretty sure you're the pizza guy.
Ryujin, the sea-dragon kami, and the storm he brings with him.
Magma shot, lava tides, and ash coming down like snow.
A neon flotilla and oil slicks just begging for a spark.
Scarab swarms and poison darts between the jade temples.
Big old beasts in tar-black shallows. Mind the teeth.
A whole dynasty of sand-galleys under a bronze sun.
Head Office. The Dimensionalist. Retirement, if you live.
Every weapon leaves a status on whatever it hits. Statuses stack, and that's where it gets silly. Line the right two up and you get something much nastier than either on its own.
Drench a fleet in oil, then swan past with the flamethrower. Burns twice as hard and jumps hull to hull.
Freeze someone solid, then ram them. That's an instant kill, no follow-up needed.
Park near an oiled ship with the coil live. The arc lights the oil for you. No fire weapon required.
Gun the rocket booster through a slick and you leave a trail of fire behind the boat. Good for a chase.
First spear freezes. Second spear shatters. A clean two-tap finisher.
Shock one ship and the charge arcs to whoever's unlucky enough to be sailing next to it.
Performance is a feature. It's developed on a 32:9 ultrawide and tuned to stay smooth from a laptop to a proper rig.
Still mid-build. A wishlist link and a devlog are coming. For now, check back for the next port of call.
